I can (use Python to) show what I know about a festival

Another creative homework and another family discussion ensues:

  • What’s to do?
  • What information do you need?
  • How will you present it?
  • Half an hour!
  • Can I do some Computing stuff and make it interactive?

This time they’re invited to respond to another sentence and explore using cultural or spiritual inspiration.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas.  The advent calendar becomes the inspiration and there’s a piece of artwork produced with hidden fascinating Christmas facts.

And that leaves a few minutes to set up the Christmas tree with the Raspberry Pi and explore the language of Linux with a Yuletide theme.

We’re just about beginners; don’t forget this is Y4. But with a previous taster of playing Wormy using Python then it’s a known interface and programming language.

And a perfect opportunity to explore the language, try to understand what SUDO means, what it can do and how you can create mischief around the house.

No more family discussion. Just the delegation for tree decorating using the phrase SUDO to both parents.

Unplugged – the learning not the tree 🙂
